In just one week, the jackpot grew from $230 million to $300 million. In mere months, the jackpot climbed from $20 million to the current pot. This follows the summer months of a lottery frenzy with billion-dollar jackpots for Powerball and Mega Millions.

With Tuesday's rollover, the Mega Millions jackpot now rockets to $350 million, more than a third of the way to a billion. The cash option is now at $155.9 million for Friday night's drawing.

The Friday, Sept. 29 numbers were 18-40-47-55-64 and the Mega Ball was 11. Megaplier was 4x. With Friday night's rollover the Mega Millions jackpot has now grown to $300 million with a $137 million cash option.

There were two big winners Friday, as tickets from Georgia and New York matched 5 for $1 million.

In case you're wondering,Tuesday, Sept. 26, numbers were 15-30-35-42-60 and the Mega Ball was 16. Megaplier was 4x. Those numbers rolled the jackpot over again, sending the grand prize for Friday to an estimated $267 million with a $123.3 million cash option.

Tuesday's drawing featured one big winner from Florida, as a ticket purchased here matched 5 balls for $1 million. A ticket purchased in Texas won the Match 5 plus the Megaplier for a $4 million prize.

In July, someone in California won the Powerball jackpot for $1.08 billion and less than a month later, someone in Neptune Beach, Florida, won the largest Mega Millions jackpot in the history of the game at $1.58 billion. In a matter of weeks, this lottery grand prize has increased from $20 million to the current pot. The upward trajectory could continue if there's another rollover.

On July 19, a single ticket in California matched all five numbers plus the Powerball to win $1.08 billion, the largest jackpot since therecord-setting $2.04 billion in November.On Aug. 8, a single ticket purchased at a Publix in Neptune Beach, Florida, matched all five numbers plus the Powerball to win $1.58 billion. On September 25, the winning ticket from Neptune Beach was claimed, according to The Associated Press. As of October 3, the identity of the jackpot winner remains anonymous. They have 90 days from when the winning ticket was claimed to remain anonymous.

It was the eighth time a Mega Millions or Powerball lottery reached $1 billion.Finally, aMega Millions ticket purchased from a Publix in Neptune Beach matched all five numbers plus the Mega Ballto win the largest prize in the history of the game. The owner of the winning ticket claimed their winnings on September 25, according to the AP.

That Tuesday drawing also produced a second-tier winner from Florida. A ticket from Kwik Stop in Hollywood matched five numbers to win $1 million.
